An individual or company desiring to apply to be a tow truck owner and wrecker service operator in Oklahoma must:
  1. own or lease a wrecker vehicle as defined in Title 47, Section 951, of the Oklahoma Statutes.
  2. maintain an office location, if you fall within either of the following categories:
    • Wrecker service companies desiring to participate in the law enforcement rotation
    • general class wrecker service companies planning to store vehicles
    The office must be maintained at the storage facility or within a two mile radius.
  3. maintain an outdoor storage facility.
If the office, storage lot or any wrecker vehicle is leased, a copy of the lease agreement must be supplied to DPS with the application packet.

What you need to get an accurate quote:

1) Year, make, model and value of all wreckers and attached equipment.

2) Name, Dates of Birth, Driver's LIcense Numbers and Driving Records for all drivers on the policy.

3) DOT and Federal Tax ID numbers

4) Current policy limits, dates, etc. if you currently have insurance.

5) Loss runs for the past five years if you have a larger towing and wrecker business.  If you don't have these, we at least need to know your loss history.
